Fetch A Sketch Challenge 10

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge! This fortnight we are sponsored by the very talented and wonderful Teri the owner and illustrator behind Delicious Doodles and the prize she is offering our winner is 4 digi's of their choice from her store. Thank you Teri!

Jenny is the hostess for this challenge and its a lovely nice and easy sketch for you!

The sketch can be rotated or flipped and you can use any of your stash and add embellishments where you wish, just as long as we can see the sketch we are happy!

I've used Rudolf the Reindeer which has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glossy accents on his nose! All the papers are from Pink Petticoat - A Doodlicious Christmas cd which I don't think is still available. I've doodled a silver line around the edge of the card and layered up two snowflakes - one cut with a Sizzix die and the other in a bag of goodies from my brother's girlfriend.

The red satin ribbon is from Meiflower and I've added some fake brads by doodling silver dots and adding glossy accents over the top.

Hope you can join in with the challenge - for more details please go to the challenge blog - deadline for entries is Sunday 13 November at 12noon GMT. Good luck!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

One Stop Craft: No Sentiment
Bah Humbug: Die Cuts

Winter Wonderland: CAS

  • Image: Delicious Doodles, coloured with Promarkers

A Funky Blog Hop - Win Twelve Crafters Crafting cd!

It's the Funky Hand Blog Hop and it is our first ever hop!! And with all hops there is one fab prize on offer - a copy of the brand new not yet even released cd - Twelve Crafters Crafting!! It's launch is on 5 November BUT you can pre order it direct from Funky Hand so you know you'll be one of the first to have it!

Each of the Design Team (funnily enough, there are twelve of us....!) picked a paper collection to work with and I went with Jingle Bells which is the twelfth paper collection on the cd. As you can see its a bright and funky collection and I just could not resist making this wordbook - you know how much I like them!

Really easy - just print out the pages you want - you can select the letter to which ever paper you want and change the colour of the letter (now that is good eh?!) The little 'ho' has been made using the workspace area - you can make words or just random letters and they will match the colour collection you are using!!

I've added extra stars here and there from the offcuts and added glitter glue around the letters. Ribbon is from Meiflower.

Hop runs from NOW and Anice will accept the unscrambled phrase until midnight GMT tomorrow evening (Sunday). If you've not hopped through those before me, pop over to Anice who will explain how its all going to work and she will provide your instructions and the list of who to hop to!

So, if you've arrived at me from Jules then you are on the right track! My letter is:

E

Now leave me a comment and hop over to Amanda, all the way up in Bonnie Scotland!

Just remember to write down each of our letters and leave us a comment - you've got to be in it to win it!!

And talking of winning, one of my other little ventures, Crimbo Crackers, also has a copy of Twelve Crafters Crafting on offer!

Good luck with the hop and be quick!!

  • All papers: Twelve Crafters Crafting from Funky Hand
  • Ribbon: Meiflower
  • Everything else: My stash

Five Green Trees

Just about managing this by the skin of my teeth! The Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge for October is to make 5 cards using a punch or die plus a colour theme to include at least one colour considered to be Halloween - green, orange, black or purple.

I've gone with the green theme! The very glittery fancy trees are actually Christmas tree decorations from The Range and I've glued (hopefully well!) onto a Nesties cut scalloped circle of some green angel hair like stuff (it originally was wrapped around a bunch of flowers).

I've also added a snowflake die plus gems and doodled a line around the edge of the card.

I've used the current sketch from Kathy's Waffle Sketch File (great sketch!) and would also like to enter the following challenges:

Bah Humbug: Die Cuts
Charisma Cardz: Anything Goes
Crafty Purple Frog: Sparkle
Meljen's Designs: Christmas
  • Embellishments: The Range
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestablities, Sizzix Snowflakes
  • Everything else: My stash

Simply Create Challenge 55 - Pumpkins

It's time for another Simply Create challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Pumpkins!

Perfect for those spooky and cute Halloween cards! We are also sponsored by Jellypark so we get to play with an image!

This digi called Pumpkin Costume was released last Friday and I made a similar card as part of the Jellypark DT. It's been coloured with Promarkers.

Again I've used papers from a digi pack from Carina Gardner called Haunted bought from Jessica Sprague plus I've added some table confetti bats from my stash. I've used matt gold card for layering and a kraft card blank.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Catz: Halloween
Do You Stack Up? Halloween Inspiration Picture
My Mums Craft Shop: Spooky Time
Tip Top Tuesday: Trick or Treat

Polkadoodle Challenge 43 - Magical and Mythical

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! This week the Design Team dig deep into their stash and use another companies' stamp alongside Polkadoodle papers! The theme for the week is:

Magical and Mythical

I've used this wonderful Jellypark image - Dinosaur Boy and coloured it with Promarkers. It's been added to the papers with foam pads so it stands proud a little and I've added wobbly eyes too!

The kraft card blank is from my stash along with the buttons, but the papers which I have distressed a little are from Paper Boutique Vol 1 cd. The sentiment is computer generated and printed onto Safmat before adding to the card. I've added a fake running stitch around the edge and that's it! All done!

Good luck with the challenge - it is open until Sunday 6 November at 12noon GMT. For more details pop over to the challenge blog.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 1 - Anything Goes

Well, the day is finally here and Crimbo Crackers has launched!! The first challenge is a nice and easy one:

Anything Goes

So as long as it is Christmas related or Festive it qualifies! Any type of crafting can be entered not just papercrafting, so dust off your stash and get creating! For more details on how to enter, just go to Crimbo Crackers.

The very wonderful Anice from Funky Hand generously offered me a prize - however I can't show it!! I can tell you what it is though - a copy of the brand new cd due to be released on 5 November called Twelve Crafters Crafting.

I am part of the Funky Hand Design Team so I get to have a play with the millions of papers and digi images on the cd (slight exaggeration, but trust me there are a lot of things to play with!)

And if you like the look of the Three Wise Kings that I've made below, then you are going to love the eye candy on the blog hop that Anice has organised for this coming weekend! So make sure you've not had too many snowballs or eggnog's as you won't want to miss out on another opportunity to win a copy of Twelve Crafters Crafting!

If you are familiar with Funky Hand cd's then you will know that each patterned paper is repeated in each paper collection but with different colour palettes. I've used three paper collections to make my Wise Kings plus my Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder, some buttons from my stash for the belts and hat bobbles (Jacob did a sterling job picking out matching buttons for me!) and I've added embroidery thread through the button holes and also on top of each of the gifts they bear.

The gifts are part of an enlarged digi image from the cd - the beauty about these cd's is that you can enlarge the digi's to A4 size without any loss of quality - these have then been coloured with Promarkers. And if you are not too hot on colouring, then there are pre coloured versions for you too!

A bit of edge inking and a faux running stitch and they are complete! I've used a rather old feature from Crafts Beautiful for the inspiration but I've made my own templates, so they can be adapted to make a Santa! Oh, and they are all held up by a good old loo roll tube!

Good luck with the challenge - I hope you will be able to join in! Closing date is Wednesday 9 November at 12noon GMT and more details and how to enter are over on Crimbo Crackers!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Bearly Mine Challenge: Anything But A Card
Digital Tuesday: Buttons and Twine
Party Time Tuesdays: Anything Goes
Critter Sketch Challenge: Three Different Patterned Papers
Karen's Doodles: Emboss It
One Stitch At A Time: Emboss It

  • All Printed Papers: 12 Crafters Crafting cd from Funky Hand
  • Embossing: Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls
  • Everything else: My stash

Dude Time Doodles November Release & Blog Hop!

It's the last Wednesday of the month so its time to reveal the new Dude Time Doodles images and to kick it all off we have a blog hop for you!

One of the Dudettes will be the hostess with the mostest and one lucky commenter will win a digi image! So make sure you leave me a comment - I've not yet been the hostess so this could be the one!!

If you've arrived at me from Dawn then you are on the right track although there is no start and end point, just make sure you've visited us all! From me you need to hop to Cleota and leave a comment there too!!

It's a double whammy again from me this month as I've been given two images to work with! First up is Brieley Soldier and he's been coloured with Promarkers. Background has been made with an offcut of printed card (Funky Hand but can't remember the actual cd - sorry!) and I've added a die cut strip of trees that I've had in my stash for years! A bit of garden twine and it is done!

Next up is Naughty Santa and his bag of coal! Both sentiments come with the image which has been coloured with Promarkers and a bit of glitter glue. I've made a simple wobble card for something a little different (Funky Hand - Dreams Come True cd) plus some silver confetti snowflakes.

Good luck with the hop and don't forget to leave a comment! Once I'm awake I'll directly link to the blogs in the hop before and after me!

Cute Dracula!

For some reason I had this post all good to go and then it reverted back to a draft and just with the picture - strange or spooky?!!

Anyway, this is the second of the two new releases from Jellypark and this one is Boy Dressed as Dracula. I've coloured him with Promarkers and added a die cut spooky tree which I've had for ages (about time I started using up my stash!) and I made a simple wobble card with some red grainy card.

Added some inking and a faux running stitch around the edge and some confetti bats and that's it!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Allsorts: Halloween
Di's Digi's: Halloween

Happy Leaves Bookmark!

Jellypark are sponsoring the Pile It On Challenge this week and the theme is:

Be Happy

I love this cute little image of jumping in leaves from Jellypark! I've coloured it with Promarkers and used an offcut of card from a Funky Hand cd Craft The Year Away (and this weekend there is 25% off all Funky Hand products!)

I've used a Nestie to draw around for the shapes and then inked the edges. The letters are cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set and the ribbon and beads are from my stash.

You'll have the excuse the rather rubbish photo - it gets dark a bit too early these days so you can't see all the colours on the leaves - looks better in real life, honest!

Operation Write Home Fundraiser Blog Hop

A few weeks ago a request was made by NannaConnie for volunteers to take part in a fundraising blog hop for Operation Write Home. So up went my hand!

"Operation Write Home is a not-for-profit organization that collects and sends handmade greeting cards to American soldiers for their use in keeping touch with their families back home. Donating cards is a wonderful way to help keep up the soldiers and their families' morale, and to say thank you for the gift of our freedom. However, the cost to OWH of shipping all those cards can be pretty large, and right now, they need to raise $13,000 to cover holiday shipping costs."
Basically the two images you see here plus the sentiments and a whole load more are available to buy from K n K Designs and Deedee Anderson which will help to raise money for Operation Write Home. If you don't want to buy the images you can still make a donation. You can click on the little image above to be taken to where it all happens!

Both cards use Funky Hand papers plus other bits from my stash. I've used Promarkers for colouring and a little bit of glossy accents on the stars. Ribbon is from my stash (not got a clue where it came from!) and the embroidery thread on the card below is from the Scrap Store.

Right! Onto the hop! Its the same as any other blog hop - just keep going to you get back where you started from and leave each of us a comment as you pass through.

If you've arrived at me from Cleota then you are doing just fine!

After me you need to hop over to Dawn and leave her a comment too

The comment is important as Katlyn at K n K Designs is offering two digi packs as prizes - so two lucky commenter's from all the entries (if you comment on each blog its more chances of winning!) will be picked and announced on Deedee's blog on Monday!

The hop closes at 8pm Pacific Time on Sunday 23 October which is around 4am on the Monday in the UK, so be quick!!!

Good luck!!

As a member of the Dude Time Doodles Design Team I get to play with the images regularly but this particular one in my sample card I've not used before and it is such a funny image - Down through the Chimney - the boys thought it was hilarious! I've coloured it with Promarkers plus a bit of glitter glue.

I've used a recycled card blank for the main base plus scraps of card from a previous project from Funky Hand - Dreams Come True cd. A bit of dotting with a fineliner black pen and its complete! Snowflakes are table confetti.

I've made a word book using the Salt n Pepper download from Funky Hand and created the letters in Word, cut them out, layered onto some more card, cut those out and then added them to the page.

Ribbons and Bows

Everything paperbased on my card comes from the very lovely new cd from Polkadoodles - Pretty Sweet. I've actually used one of the pre coloured images as I don't think my colouring would have been a good match to the image as it was! If you want to colour your own, there are stampies on the cd too!

I've added a banner with offcuts of card with ribbons from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge - it is open until Sunday 23 October at 12noon GMT.

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 8 Midway Extra

We are at the midway extra point at Fetch A Sketch! Here is a reminder of the sketch:

And our wonderful and generous sponsor is Tiddly Inks! Christy is offering the winner a $10 gift certificate to spend in her store where you will be spoilt for choice!

And here is how I've used the sketch this time! And of course it is Christmas! These are diddy cards, around 4ins square and the card blanks are actually card offcuts that I got from a recent visit to the Scrap Store - just perfect for making diddy cards!

I've used the Inky Critters set - you actually get all four images - and I've coloured them with Promarkers. I've layered each image onto a Nesties die shape, added three tiny puffy silver stars (dread to think how long I've had these!) and then added a fine line of glitter glue across the bottom - its there honest, you just can't see it terribly well in the photo!

Good luck with the challenge - you have until 12noon GMT on Sunday 16 October to enter - pop over to the challenge blog for more details!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Christmas: T is for Tiny and to make 4 mini cards or tags
Fab n Funky: Die Cuts and Punches
Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge: No Designer Paper

Oversized Jumper

Here is the second of the new releases from Jellypark! I've coloured it with Promarkers and made the sentiment on the pc which says 'Hope Christmas brings you everything you wanted!'

I think this could well be Jacob this year as he grows so fast we have to buy stuff that is too big as no sooner does something fit then its too small!

I've used an offcut of green paper from my stash plus the blue with white snowflakes is a really ancient download from Mad About Cards.

The embroidery thread again is from the Scrap Store and the snowflakes are table confetti that I've had for an age too.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Little Claire's Monthly Challenge: Christmas
One Stop Craft: Anything Goes
Our Creative Corner: Colour Challenge
Alphabet Challenge: R for Recipe - 1 image, 2 papers, 3 flowers (do snowflakes count?!)

  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers
  • Sentiment: Computer generated
  • Paper: Mad About Cards
  • Thread: Scrap Store
  • Everything else: My stash

Black and White Christmas

I really do like this Tiddly Inks image although I think it is no longer available. I've cut it out with a Nesties and then layered it onto some printed card (Salt n Pepper download from Funky Hand). I've made the background by embossing the card blank - a lot easier to do when I realised I need to open out the card so I wasn't shoving double thickness through! Swiss dots for the smaller panel.

I've dotted silver 3d paint around the edge of the image plus added some to the layered snowflake which is a Sizzix die.

The large black ribbon is from my stash (probably Blackburn market) and the smaller checked is from MeiFlower which I thoroughly recommend - wonderful range, great prices and very fast shipping!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Willow Sketchie: Sketch followed plus Snowflake extra
Cupcake Craft: Black and White Christmas
Creative Inspirations Paint: Embossing
Dream Valley Challenges: Monochrome
4 Crafty Chicks: Monochromatic
  • Image: Tiddly Inks
  • Embossing: Cuttlebug snowflakes and swiss dots
  • Dies: Sizzix snowflake, Spellbinder Nestabilities
  • Ribbon: Black and white checked from Meiflower, wide black, my stash

Saturday 8 October 2011

Scooter

This is one of two new releases from Jellypark. I never tire of colouring Claire's images and they are a joy to turn into cards! This one is called Boy On Scooter and I've coloured him with Promarkers plus some inking around the edges (that tusty little blue inkpad is almost no more!)

All the papers are from a no longer available (sorry!) collection from Funky Hand - Boys and Girls and it really is a fab paper collection! The star was made by drawing around a Christmas gift tag and the sentiment was printed onto Safmat.

A little bit of faux running stitch plus some tiny puffy silver stars that I've had in my stash for probably 6 years (eek!) and the card is complete! I'll be blogging the other new release tomorrow.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Lily Pad: Colour Palette
Southern Girls: Slugs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
Ruby's Rainbow: For The Boys
Deep Ocean Challenge: Happy Birthday
Here Come The Boys: Wheely Nice

  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers: Funky Hand, retired collection
  • Sentiment: Computer generated, printed onto Safmat
  • Everything else: My stash

Jellypark Challenge 7 - Pink & Ribbon

It's Friday!! The weekend is nearly here and its time for another Jellypark challenge! The theme of the challenge for the next two weeks, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness throughout October is:

Pink and Ribbon

I just could not resist using this cute freebie snowman that Claire drew (find him on the challenge blog) except that he is not a he but a she! I've used some angel hair type of paper that Lynsey gave me (thank you!) as I thought it made a wonderful frosty looking backdrop!

I've made the scalloped edges by punching lots of hearts and adding them just so that the round bit shows. Really easy to do but you just have to watch your spacing! Snowlady has been coloured with Promarkers plus I've added glitter glue around the edge of the image and also the card.

Brads hold the backing to the card blank (along with any seeped glitter glue!) and I found a decent length of pink ribbon to finish it off.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details on how to enter and to see the rest of the Design Team's take on the challenge, pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crazy Christmas Challenge
: No Red or Green
Jingle Belles Rock: I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas (and cure)
Digi Stamps 4 Joy: Think Pink for Breast Cancer
Inky Impressions: Breast Cancer Awareness and Monochromatic

Get Funky Challenge - Happy Happy Birthday!

It's my turn to show my creation for the current Get Funky challenge which is

Happy Happy Birthday!

I've used papers and digi images from the new cd Happy Happy Birthday. The great thing about the digi images is that you can enlarge them to A4 size without any loss of quality - the number 6 is around A5 size and I've selected one of the papers which can be printed at the same time as the digi image - you can overlay them.

I've added the number six to the card base with foam pads so it stands proud a little, then added the sentiment (outlined with a promarker) and cute little monster also with foam pads.

The monster has wobbly eyes and I've added glossy accents to the balloon. A bit of faux stitching and the card is complete! I can see me using this cd a lot - especially this combination as there are coloured and uncoloured numbers 0 to 9 so great for quick cards!

Good luck with the challenge - there are a few days left but please remember to follow the theme AND to use a Funky Hand product - there is always a freebie in the download section if you don't have anything and it always compliments the challenge theme.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafts and Me Challenges: Use a Digi (its all digi!)
My Mum's Craft Shop: All Creatures Great and Small (do monsters qualify?!)
Crazy Amigo Challenge: Animals (do monsters qualify?!)

Polkadoodle Challenge 40 - Handmade Flowers

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! This week the theme is

Handmade Flowers

It's not often I make an easel card mainly because I can never get the dimensions right but I solved it this time by making a larger central panel and adding this!

I've used Flutterby Fairy Maggie stamp (had to do some masking to add the wings - another new technique for me!) and coloured her and the toadstools with Promarkers. The papers are from the brand new cd Pretty Sweet and I've made my flowers with rolled up paper raffia and a fair dollop of glue!

A little bit of faux stitching around the edges and some inking plus a bit of ribbon and embroidery thread from my stash and my card is complete!

Good luck with the challenge - it is open until Sunday 16 October and please remember our rules!

Don't forget - we have a Design Team call at the moment so be quick and get your application in! For more details visit the challenge blog.
